What is Osteopathy?

When hyaluronic acid, ACP (Autologous growth factors) or CMI (meniscus replacement) make sense?

At low damage to the cartilage and meniscus treatment with hyaluronic acid and autologous growth factors (ACP) is recommended. Larger damage to the meniscus and cartilage surgical procedures should be considered. Cruciate ligament in young physically active people should be treated surgically.

What does the intake of vitamins and trace elements help for?

Usually not much, scientifically even evaluated that it is increasingly negative. If there are deficiencies in certain conditions, however, there are good reasons to use after certain testing.

Do I need Inlays?

A very common question. High-quality osteopathic techniques often reduce functional disorders of the foot or the static position, so that inlays are not necessary. When does Osteopathy make sense?

I just need a prescription for physical therapy - no examination! ...

The German doctor POS system and billing system allow virtually no sufficient time to detect the problems in patients. Many doctor visits and specialist referrals are much too frequent radiological and – laboratory diagnostics are the result. The conversation and education are virtually non-remunerated. In Switzerland, the costs could be greatly reduced, simply because the conversation / history has been paid back. Without definitive diagnosis and therapy considerations, the physiotherapy is not useful, they may even occasionally cause damage. Physiotherapy may also not be construed as a substitute for their own physical activity. For correct indication Physiotherapy is the ultimate therapy after surgery to achieve the goal.

Cortisone, please don't!

Targeted and once given, cortisone is one of the few panacea of medicine. The bad effect especially in tendon infiltration is known and can not be applied.

Is arthritis curable?

No – but the progression can be slowed down, the pain can be reduced and the mobility can be improved! Each violation constitutes a preliminary damage in the sense of osteoarthritis. Even if the joint is operated on, one has unfortunately already Präarthrose

I'm mad and want to complain, who should I contact?

The best way – and that sounds absurd – is your attending physician. Just talking problems of communication or in the choice of appropriate therapy complications can be resolved.
